About us

Craig & I have been camping since we were young and 4wding for over 10 years now.
We have spent a fair bit of time camping & 4wding in our local area such as Double Island Point, Inskip & Fraser Island, but our real love is getting in the 4wd, getting off the black top and heading out to the less populated areas. Although some of them are getting quiet popular these days, but you can still find an isolated spot to camp with no neighbours.

We have had two 4wds, details of which will be in "The Chariot" page.  Craig is a boat builder, he's most definately not a mechanic, so he gets to know our vehicle enough that he can fix as much as he can if something goes wrong on the track to get us to safety.  He did build the accommodation side of things on our first 4wd and it worked a treat.  The accommodation on our current 4wd is a little bit more luxurious now, but again Craig built it (with a helping hand from me).

We are not experts in the world of 4wding by a long shot, but do enjoy getting out there to see this amazing country of ours and sharing with our family & friends.  For us it's not just about reaching the destination we have chosen, but also about enjoying the journey to get there, visiting the small towns along the way, seeing their highlights, meeting fellow travellers and generally enjoying the overall trip.

We always keep a trip journal on our big adventures & take lots of photos, so decided putting them on a blog was an easy way to share our trips with our family & friends.   Before we embark on a big adventure I usually spend a number of hours on the internet reseraching other peoples similar trips, looking at photos and trying to find info on camping spots and things to see.  I'm not always successful, so we figured if we put our info in this blog it might help other travellers researching their trips as well.
